FANTASTIC VILLA
Date of Stay Jul 2020 : Reviewed Aug 2020
We’ve just had 2 wonderful weeks staying in this excellent well-equipped property. Everything is thought of for a stress free stay. The facilities were perfect and the pool a welcome relief on the many hot days we experienced. The air conditioned bedrooms were comfortable and of a good size. The house sits in a large plot that is not overlooked and we found ourselves eating outside every night. The 2 bikes included with the house were very useful for quick trips to both the local town and the beach front. The owners were always quick to respond and very helpful. Overall I’d highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to stay in the south of France.

We had a great family holiday with 3 generations. The rental is perfectly consistent with the photos in the ad and even better. The park and the swimming pool are perfectly maintained and very pleasant. The villa is very clean and functional, with plenty of storage. The location is very quiet while not being too far from Argelès Village. The "contact" person on site is very friendly and available and the owners with whom we communicated by email are very responsive. We are delighted with our stay and particularly recommend this rental to which we will return with pleasure.

WONDERFUL VILLA FOR FAMILY HOLIDAY
Date of Stay Jun 2019 : Reviewed Jun 2019
Fantastic villa, so happy we booked it for our family get together. The owners have carefully prepared a very thorough guide to the villa, which made it very easy to find and get sorted on arrival. The family all appreciated the garden, lovey pool and deck area for sunbathing. The outdoor dining area and built bbq were great, table tennis, pétanque were appreciated. Inside, the villa was spacious with everything we could need. We enjoyed the quite residential area with views to the hills set above the village but easily walking distance to restaurants, to buy croissants for breakfast and to the rail station for outings. All together a lovely holiday.

After a lot of soul searching, I found the ideal accommodation with an ample size swimming pool, plenty of space, close to amenities and fantastic weather, it is more than I can ask for. The owner gave us so much information and the locals are very friendly. It is nice to speak a bit of French even if it doesn’t flow off the tongue, they understand me. My family and I love it here and don’t want to leave.

We are a family of 5 who stayed here for a week in April 2018. The stay was very relaxing with comfy beds, lots of space and every amenity you could think of available and well explained with lots of very clear instructions and information. We even braved the pool at this time of year on a warm day. The old town was just a 10-15 min walk away, or a quick cycle on the bikes in the garage, and it was just a short drive to the beaches at the coast, and the walk from Racou to Collioure. Lots of options to fly into and hire cars (we arrived in Carcassonne) and the drive was easy to get to.
Would happily stay there again.

We stayed here as a family of 4, with another family of 3 and the villa was perfect! Between us we had 3 girls, aged 11 and two at 13.
The location is great - short walk to the village and drive to a choice of lovely beaches, the port or other nice towns.
Villa Failte is fantastic. Very spacious, with great outdoor space as well, including a lovely seating area and barbecue; and the fabulous pool. There’s also table-tennis, pétanque and plenty of inflatables and games to keep you occupied!
The villa is well equipped with all home from home comforts. Our girls enjoyed being able to watch Netflix to escape the heat!
Communication with the owners was super efficient when booking and prior to our holiday with lots of useful information provided. This continued throughout our stay, with the helpful manager Gavin as well.
We had a fantastic week here, and would definitely recommend, or come back again!

The Villa is beautiful and everything needed is provided. We absolutely loved the outdoor areas and pool. The villa is about a 10 minute walk into the village and a comfortable 30 minute walk to the beach. The train station is a 15 minute walk and from here we went into Collioure (its a must) and takes about 4mins. Most evenings we ate at the villa's outdoor kitchen. We did enjoy the occasional meal out and recommend La Gamate in Argeles village, food was fantastic and easy walk from the villa (you will need to book).
Thank you for sharing your fantastic villa with us. We will be visiting again.

Four tastefully decorated bedrooms, a large open plan Dinning/living room with an extensive entertainment system tv, DVD (English channels available) and a good selection of Dvd's and cd's' well equipped kitchen, a laundry and loads of outside space Although we didn't venture out much we did find a nice bakery (boulangerie) and the local hyper market (Inter Marche) which was only a couple of minutes drive away to get those all important provisions. The property is extremely secure having electrical powered entrance gates as well as video surveillance on the front gate. I cannot stress how much we were all impressed by this beautiful villa and we're now planning to return as soon as possible

This villa is just beautiful, tastefully decorated and very spacious. We have 2 young children, Stewart and Donna were very accommodating for them putting the stair gates up before we arrived there was also a baby cot and high chair. We loved the garden which was also very child friendly all enclosed and there was a cover for the pool that heated it when closed. The pool was amazing lovely and warm which was also great for the kids. The villa was well equipped with a large TV, wifi, games, DVDs, books, CDs and a portable speaker that you can connect your phone too. Stewart and Donna were great after we booked sending through lots of helpful information on the villa and things to do, the villa is about a 10 minute walk from local shops and restaurants, we had lunch out a couple of times but we mostly eat at the BBQ area at the villa. The local supermarket was only a 5 minute drive away and had everything we needed. We also headed to the beach for a day which was beautiful, there were lots of nice cafes and restaurants at the marina but you really need a car to get there. We can't recommend this villa enough it was just stunning and Stewart and Donna where lovely to deal with.

What a lovely villa!!! Completely thought through in every way. We were unfortunate to have not great weather while there but this wasn't a problem as there are easily 300+ DVD's to choose from and so many smart apps on the TV including Netflix. We're not the movie watching types normally but it was so nice to watch so many feel good movies with us all (2 adults and 3 children). We enjoyed playing petanque at rear of the villa. The kids still managed to use the pool with the cover on. The BBQ was excellent, so when the weather was good (last couple of days) it was nice to sit outside to eat. The cooperative Vin Cave was a fab discovery, we were able to buy the local rosè by the litre(€1.90/L) Colliure is nice to visit and do take the petit train up the hills and through the vineyards stopping at the top to take in the breathtaking views of the bay below. We also drove 1hr20 mins over to the Spanish side to a beautiful town called Cadeques for dinner. Straight over the border with no passports (we forgot) but one the way back got stopped at the check point. Once the Spanish authorities saw the three children in the back, apologised and said go , go. Lovely. That's why is better to be in Europe......(BTW, thanks to Stewart and Donna for renting out this lovely villa) I think this region is a bit more relaxed than the south east coast...

AN IDEAL PROPERTY FOR 8 PEOPLE WITH A SUPER POOL AND OUTSIDE BBQ AND KITCHEN
Date of Stay 01 Jul - 8 Jul 2016 : Reviewed Jul 2016
The villa is exceptionally well equipped. The table tennis was especially popular with both children and adults as was the super pool which had the added bonus of a substantial cover which not only kept the pool clean but also maintained the water at a lovely temperature. There is a large selection of cooking utensils etc and plenty of crockery and cutlery as well as two fridges. We always ate at the table in the outside kitchen area as the weather was excellent and we made good use of the bbq. The villa is well situated being near enough to Argeles Village for a stroll to collect baguettes etc for breakfast and to visit in the evenings as it had quite a few bars. Further afield there are lovely places to visit our favourite being Collioure. From there you could catch a road train which went for a 45min ride along hillside paths which afforded wonderful views of the coastline. A really lovely villa which we have pleasure in recommending.

ABSOLUTELY TOP-NOTCH VILLA; WALK IN, DROP BAGS, ENJOY HOLIDAY ... THE OWNERS HAVE THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING
Date of Stay 20 Aug - 27 Aug 2016 : Reviewed Aug 2016
This is an excellent, well-equipped, thoughtfully presented, comfortable property in a great location. If you're looking for a relaxed, no-effort family holiday location it would take some beating.
We were a family party of 6 adults and 2 young teens and we all enjoyed the villa enormously, each doing our own thing but meeting up by the pool, or for breakfast and supper in the summer-kitchen which (apart from the pool) is the best feature; an attractive and cheery place to hang out, watching the barbecue and sipping a glass of chilled rose. Plenty of room in the pool for us all and masses of room in the spacious interior for us not to be tripping over each other which meant that the children, on the rare moments when they left the pool, could watch a film or chill out on a sofa each - which made for a very relaxing time for the adults.
We were here during a heatwave and under-achieved on sightseeing generally, preferring to do early forays out and spend afternoons and evenings at the Villa. However we can report on the following: Collioure is beautiful but do go early in high season. We arrived for the Weds. market at 8.30 but by midday when we left, it was very busy with a queue of traffic on the coast road to get in. Argeles' beaches are large and lovely; very busy on Sundays but otherwise, even in late August, there's plenty of space for all. Argeles Port is a great spot for an apero and people-watching; motor-boat hire (no licence necessary) was great fun, 'Tropical' mini-golf is well-groomed, attractive and just challenging enough to keep young teenagers interested for a while. We ate out at the 'Amethyste' in the Port: the food was fine though unremarkable but it's a great location and they were friendly and helpful. Port Vendres is a proper fishing port and I imagine you'd get a decent seafood meal at one of it's many speciality restaurants.
The property was spotless when we arrived and the welcome-pack was much-appreciated...nice too that all switches, plugs etc were labelled - thank you! It was a blessing not to have to pack linens and even beach towels were supplied. We didn't even have to pack boules or pool-inflatables...all there. We did make a few sad attempts at table-tennis and should you wish to spend your holiday washing and ironing, then the laundry-room is for you.
The outside space is well-maintained and the mature palms and olive trees provide a lovely-dappled shade for lounger-snoozing.
Altogether a cracking good holiday!

We had a fantastic week's holiday at Villa Failte in Argele Sur Mer. I can unreservedly recommend the property and the doing business with the owners. If you have any doubt at all, give them a ring or drop an email - we were stunned at how rapidly we received a response.
The house itself is equipped with very comfortable furnishings and ample room for a family. It has pretty much everything you will need including simple toiletries, towels and bedding. For fun; there was a petanque court out back, a table tennis table in the garage, bikes in the shed and....oh yes, a pool! 10m long and covered to keep it clean and warm - the pictures do it justice - it was great!
We ate outside everyday in the bbq area with food bought from a mixture of the town and the nearby Intermarche (5 mins via the back route). The laundry facilities worked, the fridges and freezers were ample and the air con a welcome respite from the heat come bed time.
In a sentence - excellently well equipped, clean, well maintained and owned by people I was glad to do business with.
Location - The villa is near the town but we preferred to drive if it was to the shops, head to the beach or eat. Nothing to do with the Villa, but Argeles traffic in the summer can be a bit busy and is not for the faint hearted on a bike. There is a walking route into town, but we didn't like it much, so used a car on most occassions. A car is highly recommended, but parking in the entire region can be tricky. The surrounding roads were very quiet, as was the immediate area which is well served by a bus route (though we never used it). It's close to a local train station which will take you to Perpignan or Collioure - both worth a visit. In a sentence - The villa is well located in an easy to access and quiet area. We would highly recommend a car but it is possible to survive without one. (OK, two sentences).
All in all we had a great time. loved the villa and have no hesitation in recommending the property, the owners or HomeAway.

Villa Failte is a beautiful property with everything for a most comfortable and relaxing holiday. A lot of love and taste have gone into furnishing and decorating the house. The equipment is more than complete and of high quality. You will find many extras like pool towels, games, a large selection of DVDs and CDs and and and… The garden and pool area is - as everything else – spotlessly clean and extremely well looked after. The owner responds promptly to any enquiries and makes you feel really welcome to his French home. All in all a real feel-good place. If there were more than five points to award, Villa Failte would certainly get them! Argeles-Village is nice and nearby, but to get to supermarkets and sea front, you really should have a car. Argeles-Plage is a loud touristic mile, not ours, but the beaches are fabulous - long, lovely and never overcrowded. Altogether a superb location for a perfect family holiday.

This villa had everything we could have hoped for (and more) as a party of 8 adults, looking for a relaxing stay, in an area of France I have visited a number of times. It is spacious and well laid out with a good-sized pool, loads of outside space and a fantastic summer kitchen. It's the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday and people of all ages. For example, the table tennis table in the garage provided endless fun. Stewart and Donna went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They replied to queries promptly and during our stay they emailed to check whether we needed any extra blankets because the weather turned a bit colder. Overall we couldn't have asked for a nicer villa or hosts. We will definitely be visiting again.

Villa Failte is a large property that will provide all the facilities you'd expect in a 4 star hotel with the privacy and independence of a private villa. Let's begin with the pool which is kept warm and clean thanks to its cover easily opened and closed. (a safety feature when with young children). The outdoor kitchen and barbecue is a great feature and turns 'al fresco' dining into a life style. The house itself is very well equipped, spacious and comfortable with all the modern technology installed and working. Do not miss out on Argeles street market on Wednesday morning to fill up with all the locally produced fruit and veg, and pay a visit to Port Leucate to sample some of the local oysters and sea food platters.

Considering the price, this must be one of the best self-catering Villas we have holidayed in over the last 40 years or so. We are very experienced travellers. The quality is very, very good and absolutely everything one needs in a holiday villa has been thought of and provided.
Great inside - but even better outside at the pool and excellent outdoor 'kitchen and dining' area - complete with BBQ. We ate inside only once during the 7 day stay. Max size TV screen in the lounge area and a very comprehensive collection of DVDs to go with it - we had a 'film night' most evenings. Argeles is a decent area to visit - with a close by (walking distance) old town and a good, clean beach 10 mins away by car. Fairly good selection of restaurants and a nice old town market each Wednesday morning.

We stayed as a family group including our two year old granddaughter. We were attracted to this villa by the pool and outside space. There was room for young children to run around but the area was private and enclosed and there were electric gates. The pool cover was a great safety feature but also reduced insect life in the pool to a minimum and the pleasant water temperature gave our granddaughter confidence in the pool. We always ate in the outdoor dining area and there were other areas with good quality furniture to relax with a book. We had a knock out table tennis competition some evenings. Indoors the villa was well equipped. The kitchen had everything you would need to cater for a family group. In the lounge area there was a wide range of DVDs and CDs to keep any age group entertained and a good selection of games. The owners were quick to answer queries both before and during our stay. The villa website and information provided at the villa were extremely comprehensive. The local villa manager was quick to respond and efficient in sorting out a minor issue. The villa is on the edge of Argeles village and has easy access to the road network to explore the area but it's only a fifteen minute walk to the boulangerie for morning pastries or the train station if you want to leave the car and use the train to access Perpignan, Coulliere and beyond. This is a great villa for families with owners who care that their customers have an excellent holiday experience and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This villa was even better than we had imagined. It is very well equipped with everything that you would need to feel at home. We were a family of 4 adults and 2 teenage boys (17 and 13). The swimming pool is a very good size and the cover helped keep it warm so you can jump right in first thing in the morning. The garden area is great, there was enough room for badminton, table tennis and the boys to have a kick around with a football. The equipment at the villa is is top quality - even to the steam iron! This villa is located in a quiet area, just outside the village of Argeles. It was ideal to walk to the village (10 mins) for a meal, coffee, bakery etc or to go a bit further to the sea by car or tourist train where there is a lot more going on. We have stayed in many villas over the years and this villa was definitely one of the best! I would recommend this villa without hesitation - I only wish it was mine!

We spent a fabulous 2 weeks at the villa. The villa is very spacious and clean. The pool is great (a 'proper' pool) which is lovely to both swim in and just laze around in. The villa has all the equipment you need. It is within walking distance of the village and train station. There are also some good direct routes for day trips. We loved walking into the village either for breakfast (you have to visit La Noisette opposite the church), market days or to the boulangerie. There are plenty of shops and eateries. Supermarket is only about a mile away. Beaches are also extremely good. I have to say that we enjoyed the summer kitchen the most. If we didnt go in to the village for breakfast we ate in it every day. We also had quite a few bbqs. Stewart was also great both in terms of arrangements and answering queries promptly both in the UK and when we were at the villa. We are very picky people but would definitely return and would thoroughly recommend.

Villa Failte is an ideal family setting. We could not fault the facilities. The layout of the villa is ideal for two or more couples or families sharing. The downstair's master bedroom has it's own bathroom whilst the upstairs has a separate bathroom./facilities. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the villa, inside and out whilst the facilities are second to none. The owners have thought of everything to make you feel at home. We were particularly impressed with the pool cover which kept the water temp. to 72/74 degrees in October and enjoyed the use of the alfresco dining area and the BBQ. There was an extensive information pack which the owners have invested many hours compiling. We found everything we needed within, so had little contact with the owners. The village of Argeles-Sur-Mer offers a great location with all you need for a relaxing holiday or for the more adventurous type, hill walking, cycling, snorkelling. We just chilled and explored the village and neighbouring towns and sampled the local vintages. A week is great but two weeks would have been better !!
