A truly stunning sea village / town only 7km from Argeles Sur Mer. Well worth a day visit.
Famous the world over for its picturesque harbour and a haven for hundreds of years for its many resident artists who sell their paintings both internationally and from their boutique galleries dotted around the harbour area.
Also famous for Anchovies, Collioure boasts many excellent restaurants to suit every taste especially along the harbour-side and amongst the narrow streets intermingled with craft and art shops.
There is a fabulous cliff top walk (all paths) from La Racou beach in Argeles Sur Mer to Collioure. It takes about 1.5 hours but is well worth the effort with stunning sea views and picturesque coves along the way. Best way to do it is to walk there, have a refreshment, lunch or dinner then walk back. Public transport / taxis are available if you don't fancy the walk back !
